Grilled Steak and Asparagus Roll Ups

These impressive looking rolls are healthy and easy to make. Best of all they only require 5 ingredients!  Don’t let their impressive looks scare you away they are sooo… easy and are sure to impress! 

I start with a less expensive cut of steak, flank steak, cut it into 3 inch wide strips and pound the heck ouEasy Grilled Steak and Asparagus Roll-Upst of it until it is about 1/4 inch thick. As a bonus, this is a great stress reliever! Then place the steak in an air tight container or zip lock bag and pour in your favorite marinade.  Let it sit in your fridge like this over night or all day or both. To ensure that you are using a healthy marinade check the ingredient label or make your own. Try to stay away from marinades that are high in sugar, contain artificial ingredients, preservatives, dyes, or ingredients you can’t pronounce!

When you are ready to cook, heat up your grill. Lay out each piece of meat and place asparagus, peppers and onion on them. Then roll each strip up tightly and secure it closed with toothpicks. I grill them for about 10 minutes turning to brown all sides, until desired doneness (Is that a word? Not sure but you know what I mean.) is achieved.

These little gems are so versatile, don’t limit yourself to asparagus try other vegetables as well such as green beans. Let us know your favorite combinations!

Grilled Steak & Asparagus Roll-Ups
Serves 4
These steaks are delicious and sure to impress! Best of all they only require 5 ingredients!

  1. 1½ lbs. Flank Steak or Sirloin Steak
  2. 1/2 cup of your favorite marinade
  3. 8 thin stalks of asparagus, trimmed
  4. 8 thin strips of red or yellow sweet peppers
  5. 8 thin slices of red onion
  1. Cut the flank steak into 3 inch wide strips.
  2. Place each piece between two pieces of plastic wrap.
  3. Using a mallet, pound the meat into ¼ inch thick slices.
  4. Place steak into a resealable container or zip lock bag.
  5. Pour marinade over the steak.
  6. Refrigerate overnight.
  7. When ready to cook, heat your grill up.
  8. Remove the steaks from the container or bag.
  9. Divide the prepared vegetables between each piece of steak, laying them on top.
  10. Roll up each steak around the vegetables using a toothpick to secure the steaks closed.
  11. Place the steak rolls on the grill and cook for approximately 10 minutes or until desired doneness is achieved.
  12. Turn the rolls during grilling to brown all sides.
  13. Remove from grill and let steak rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  1. When choosing your marinade don'r forget to check the ingredients. Avoid those with words you can't pronounce, those high in sugar, preservatives, dyes.... Keep it as "clean" and healthy as possible!
