Back to Basics Menu Plan!

It is that time of year! Back to School!  It is also a great time of year to get back to the basics of clean eating. After a summer of fun and a bit of over indulgence here and there it is time for me to get back on track. Time to dial in that menu plan and schedule in exercise! I am actually excited. It is like a new beginning.  Do you remember that feeling as a kid when you went out and got new notebooks, pencils, crayons…? That feeling that you were getting ready to start something great? Well that is how I feel right now! Excited to get back on track and start a new leg of my health and fitness journey! 

Menu planning is key.  However the beginning of the school year for teachers (I am a teacher) is crazy busy and there isn’t much time for creative menu planning.  It is all good though because I have found that I am most successful getting back on track when I keep my menu plan basic, simple. No complicated recipes just clean yummy food!  

Corkcicle! Keeps your water cold!I usually eat my lunch and snacks in my car as a travel to various schools around the city.  I have a great lunch bag and have invested in a Corkcicle cup to make sure I have cold water all day, it keeps ice in my cup, even in a hot car!  After all we have to get in half our body weight in ounces of water each day and having cold water ready helps me meet my quota! 

This menu plan is for the 1200 – 1499 calorie bracket so adjust it to your calorie bracket by adding foods as needed. Also substitute foods according to your preference and tastes.  I try my best to get the menus I share just right but always seem to leave something off or add a little something extra… If you notice anything I apologize ahead of time and please adjust your menu accordingly.
