Granola bars are one of my favorite snacks! They are delicious and make me feel like I am eating a really healthy snack. However, I grabbed a few boxes of granola bars for a road trip and looked at the ingredients… the ones I had chosen were not so healthy. When a scanned them on the Fooducate App the rating they got was not stellar or even close. What a disappointment. What did they have in them? Well they were high in sugar and oil…. I have discovered that the more ingredients in a store bought bar, the more unhealthy it likely is. So what is a girl to do….? Make her own granola bars of course!
These granola bars require just 3 ingredients: honey, nut butter, and old fashioned oats. I use all organic ingredients. You can add in little extras such as nuts, seeds, dried fruit or even some chocolate chips if desired. But sometimes simpler is better.
They go really well with my morning shake!
