Ice cream is always the perfect treat on a hot day or after a long workout but if you are trying to eat clean all of that added sugar does not go with your plan! So what is one to do?
Make your own of course! And what better for your base than Shakeology! This drink tastes like dessert so why not use it to make yummy desserts! People often think of Shakeology as a meal replacement drink but it really is very versatile! There are recipes using Shakeology for protein balls, cookies, brownies and of course our favorite ICE CREAM!
Some of you may be wondering what the hype is over Shakeology. I could write pages about it but I am going to do my best to keep it to just a few sentences. Shakeology is a high quality nutritional supplement containing at least 50 super foods! This nutrient dense drink provides plenty of vitamins for your day and a natural boost of energy without ingesting high amounts of caffeine. It helps keep your digestive system healthy and has a antioxidants to give your immune system a boost. We have found that when drank daily it also helps to keep cravings from getting out of hand. The recipe below is for one serving. It can be can easily be modified depending on how thick you like your ice cream. Add a little more ice and a little less milk if you like to scoop it out thick! If you want “hard” ice cream place it in the freezer in a covered container for approximately 2 hours, stirring it every 30 minutes! In our home it always gets eaten right away!
