The Healthy Crock-Pot: Hot Apple Dump Dessert
By Donna&Danielle on December 8, 2015
Crock-pots are not just for dinner! They can be quite handy in preparing other meals including warm, comforting yummy desserts. Desserts that are healthy so you do not have to feel guilty about indulging yourself. Crock-pot desserts are a perfect treat for chilly days.
This apple filled dessert has the same flavors as apple pie without the guilt of a fattening crust. Hot Apple Dump Dessert is easy, quick to assemble and yes, healthy. It is similar to apple crisp. If you use gluten free granola it becomes a gluten free dessert. I use pure maple syrup in place of refined sugar and organic apple juice to clean it up even more (I try to use organic ingredients when possible).
Hot Apple Dump Dessert is so easy! The hardest part is peeling and coring the apples. After that you just dump and mix the ingredients. As it cooks your house will smell delicious! My husband likes to warm up the leftovers for breakfast the next day. That is if there are any leftovers….
